Warm Tip: Maintenance for Plush Toys

1. Keep the indoor clean and reduce dust as much as possible. Clean the surface of the toys frequently with clean, dry, and soft tools.

2. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and keep the inside and outside of the toy dry.

3. When cleaning, take necessary measures according to the size. For small toys, you can first use tape to cover the parts that are afraid of wear and tear, directly put them into the washing machine for gentle washing, spinning, and hanging in a shady place to dry completely. Meanwhile, gently pat the toy at intervals to make its fur and filling fluffier and softer. For large toys, you can find the filling seam and cut the seam to open it.
For special parts that require filling (like polyester cotton), you may choose not to remove them (to better maintain the shape). Use tape to cover the parts that are prone to wear. Clean and dry the exterior skin, then put the filling into the toy skin, shape it, and sew it up.

4. For furs/fabrics or dolls with high-tech electronics, speakers, or motors, always remove the electronic components (some are not waterproof) or batteries before washing to prevent water damage.

5. After the toy is cleaned and dried, use a clean comb or similar tool to comb the fur in the direction of the pelt to make it smooth and beautiful.

6. Check if the internal organs of plush toys are clean and hygienic. In substandard toy fillings, there are discarded plastics, fiber ropes, paper debris, and even the black heart cotton that is strictly prohibited by the country.

7. Twist the eyes, nose, and mouth of the plush toy to see if it is sturdy. If the small parts of the toy do not meet the national standards for tension, it is considered an inferior product.

8. In order to maintain good health, it is necessary to regularly disinfect and clean the plush toys.

9. A simple and effective method for sterilization and disinfection is to use a steam iron with a strong power to gently and repeatedly iron the fur. This also has a certain effect on killing bacteria and removing dirt.

10. The key to washing plush toys at home: For toys with fewer small parts, you can use 30-40°C warm water to hand wash or machine wash, using neutral laundry detergent. For long-haired plush toys, using cashmere laundry detergent will be better.

11. How to make toys less prone to getting dirty and extend their lifespan: when you first purchase the toy, do not discard the cardboard box or plastic bag. Keep them for use when storing the toy to prevent dust accumulation. In areas with high humidity, to prevent the toy from being affected by moisture, you can place a dehumidifier when storing the toy. For stuffed toys, try to avoid storing them in a way that allows them to become flattened.
