Function of the three poles:
A: Positive input for the DC power supply

G pole: Control pole; applying a certain positive voltage to it can make the thyristor conduct; however, the G pole cannot

Experiment Report:

Cut off the already conducting unidirectional thyristor, because a maintaining current will form inside the conducting thyristor, keeping it in operation; only by reducing this maintaining current to zero can its conduction be stopped.
In the circuit of the "electronic candle" we are going to make:
Pointing switch S1: Used to apply a positive voltage to the G pole; by pressing it once, the thyristor conducts, and the candle light turns on;
Trigger switch S2: Used to short-circuit poles A and K. Right at that moment of short circuit, the current flowing through the thyristor becomes zero (all the current previously flowing through the thyristor is diverted away from the copper plate). The internal maintained current is lost, causing the thyristor to open, and the candle lamp turns off.
