PE release film

  PE, which stands for Polyethylene, is the most structurally simple high molecular organic compound. It is the most widely used high molecular material in the world today. It is formed by the polymerization of ethylene. PE release film is divided into high-density polyethylene, medium-density polyethylene, and low-density polyethylene based on different densities. Low-density polyethylene is softer and is usually produced by high-pressure polymerization. High-density polyethylene has a characteristic of rigidity, hardness, and high mechanical strength, which is usually produced by low-pressure polymerization. High-density polyethylene can be used for containers, pipes, and also as high-frequency electrical insulating materials for radar and television. The commonly used material is usually low-density (high-pressure) polyethylene.
  

PE release film

Polyethylene is waxy in appearance, with a smooth feel similar to wax. When not dyed, low-density polyethylene is transparent, while high-density polyethylene is opaque. Polyethylene is a high polymer chain formed by the addition reaction and polymerization reaction of ethylene CH2CH2, connected by repeated CH2 units. The performance of polyethylene depends on its polymerization method; under medium pressure of 1530 atmospheric pressure and catalyzed by organic compounds, ZieglerNatta polymerization produces high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Under these conditions, the polymerized polyethylene molecules are linear, and the molecular chain is very long, with molecular weights reaching hundreds of thousands. If it is produced under high pressure of 100-300MPa and high temperature of 190-210°C, peroxide catalyzed free radical polymerization produces low-density polyethylene (LDPE), which is branched. Polyethylene is insoluble in water, with very small water absorption, and only slightly soluble in some chemical solvents such as toluene, acetic acid, etc., only at temperatures above 70°C. However, the microgranular polyethylene can melt or solidify between 15°C to 40°C, melting when the temperature rises, absorbing heat; solidifying when the temperature falls.It releases heat. Because it has a very small water absorption capacity and is not easily damp, it has insulating properties, making it an excellent building material.

The Characteristics and Applications of PE Release Film

  LDPE (High-pressure Low-density Polyethylene): Non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless, it appears as semi-transparent spherical or cylindrical particles. It has excellent low-temperature resistance, chemical resistance, good elasticity and electrical insulation, but poor wet resistance and flammability. Density: 0.910-0.940 g/cm³. It is suitable for extrusion, injection molding, vacuum form, compression molding, and transfer molding. Crystallinity: 55-65%, crystallization melting point: 108-126°C. HDPE (Low-pressure High-density Polyethylene): Non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless, it appears as white powder, cylindrical, or semi-circular particles. It has wear resistance, corrosion resistance, water-impermeability, flammability, and poor flexibility. Melting point: approximately 130°C, relative density: 0.941-0.965. It has good heat resistance and cold resistance. Good chemical stability, high rigidity and toughness, good mechanical strength, and good dielectric performance and environmental stress cracking resistance.Density: 0.941-0.9708 g/cm³, Application: Mainly used for injection molding, manufacturing various bottles, cans, barrels, industrial tanks, etc., hollow packaging. LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene): Tasteless, odorless, non-toxic powder or granules, high hardness and abrasion resistance, good heat sealing and thermal adhesiveness. Density: 0.91-0.940 g/cm³; Mainly used to manufacture films, can also be used for injection molding and blow molding. Compared with LDPE, it has the advantages of high strength, good toughness, strong rigidity, heat resistance, cold resistance, etc., and has good performance of resistance to environmental stress cracking, tear strength, etc., and can resist acid, alkali, organic solvents, etc. PE release film is a polyethylene plastic with stable chemical properties. It is usually used to make food bags and various containers, resistant to acid, alkali and salt solution erosion, but it is not suitable for strong alkaline cleaners to wipe or soak.The application of PE release film is very wide, which is further divided into high-density, low-density, and linear PE. The most commonly used in daily applications are various plastic films and plastic sheets. PE pipes are classified into medium-density polyethylene pipes and high-density polyethylene pipes. They are divided into the SDR11 and SDR176 series according to wall thickness. The former is suitable for the transportation of gaseous artificial gas, natural gas, and liquefied petroleum gas, while the latter is mainly used for the transportation of natural gas. Compared with steel pipes, the construction process is simple, with certain flexibility, and more importantly, it does not require corrosion prevention treatment, which will save a lot of processes. The disadvantage is that the mechanical properties are not as good as steel pipes, and special attention should be paid to the safety distance of thermal heating in construction, and it cannot be exposed to the air and sunlight. It is also sensitive to chemical substances, preventing the leakage of sewage pipes from causing harm. Specific gravity: 0.94096 g/cm³; Molding shrinkage rate: 15-36%; Molding temperature: 140-220℃.

  Excellent corrosion resistance and electrical insulation (especially high-frequency insulation), can be chlorinated, irradiated modified, and can be reinforced with glass fiber. Low-pressure polyethylene has a higher melting point, rigidity, hardness, and strength, low water absorption, good electrical properties, and resistance to radiation. High-pressure polyethylene has better flexibility, elongation, impact strength, and permeability. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has high impact strength, resistance to fatigue, wear resistance, and low-pressure polyethylene is suitable for making corrosion-resistant parts and insulating parts. High-pressure polyethylene is suitable for making films, etc. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is suitable for making shock absorbers, wear-resistant, and transmission parts.

   Crystalline material, low moisture absorption, does not need to be fully dried, excellent flowability, sensitive to pressure, high pressure injection is suitable for molding, uniform material temperature, fast filling speed, sufficient holding pressure, not suitable for direct gate, to prevent uneven shrinkage, increase internal stress, pay attention to the choice of gate position to prevent the formation of shrinkage and deformation; The range and value of shrinkage are large, the directionality is obvious, easy to deform and warp, the cooling speed should be slow, the mold should have a cold material hole and a cooling system; The heating time should not be too long, otherwise it will decompose and burn; For soft plastic parts with shallow side grooves, it can be forcibly demolded; It may occur melt fracture, not suitable for contact with organic solvents to prevent cracking. Polyethylene is the most important downstream product of ethylene, accounting for 70% of the world's polyolefin consumption, 44% of the total consumption of thermoplastic general plastics, and 52% of the world's ethylene production.Polyethylene is broadly classified into three main types: high-density polyethylene (HDPE), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). Film is the primary product processed, followed by sheet and coating, hollow containers such as bottles, cans, and buckets, and various injection and blow molded products, as well as tubing and insulating and sheathing materials for wires and cables. It is primarily used in packaging, agriculture, and transportation sectors.
