A pincers is mainly used for clamping and fixing workpieces and cutting metal wire materials. It amplifies the force of the hand through the lever principle to achieve control over hard objects.
Section Two: Material Attributes
1. The material of the clamp head: It is usually made of high carbon steel (such as 45-steel, T8 steel) or alloy tool steel, which is quenched to enhance hardness and wear resistance, capable of withstanding significant clamping and cutting forces.
2. Clamp handle material: mostly rubber or PVC coated, with anti-skid and insulating (some insulated models can resist voltages below 250V) features, enhancing grip comfort and operational safety.
3. Structural attributes: It consists of fixed jaws, movable jaws, a screw rod, and a clamping handle. The screw rod can adjust the opening of the jaws to suit different sized workpieces; the jaws have fine teeth to enhance the stability of the grip and prevent slippage.
Section Three: Main Uses
- Clamping application: Fixing bolts and nuts to tighten or loosen; clamping small metal parts for grinding, welding, drilling, and other processing operations.
- Cutting Application: Cut wire, copper wire, aluminum wire, and other metal wire materials. Some models can cut thinner steel pipes or rivets.
- Auxiliary use: can be used as a temporary wrench to tighten irregular nuts; leverage the jaws to pry open gaps, disassemble clamps, etc.
