Method of Disassembling and Installing a Lamp Shade

1. Remove the entire headlight (part of the vehicle model requires removing the grille and bumper). If the headlight cannot be removed, it is not recommended to do it yourself.

2. Check around the headlights to see if there are screws holding them in place. If there are, remove the screws first.

3. Prepare a hot air gun (a high-power hair dryer can also be used), a flat screwdriver, and blow the hot air gun directly at the sharp corner of the headlight.

4. Pay attention to the distance from the air outlet and control the time to avoid melting the lamp body. After 3-5 minutes, when it feels slightly hot, quickly and forcefully pry it open.

5. Use a screwdriver to hold it against the edge, pry open a gap, and continue to blow the hot air gun along the edge to soften the sealant.

6. As you blow and pry apart, it will all be opened in a while. (The lamp shade and the interior decoration frame are connected together).

7. Use a screwdriver to clean up the old glue, and clean it up to the point where it is almost done. Then apply the snake glue provided by the small store, and tear off the oil paper.

8. Remove the decorative silver frame from the old lamp shade (do not forget to do this) and install it onto the new lamp shade.

9. Use a hot air gun to evenly heat and soften the new silicone, blow several times, and slow down the blowing speed. Soften the silicone.

Observe the exact location of the glue on the old lamp shade and roughly mark the same position on the new shade.

11. Press the old lamp shade evenly, make sure to press evenly in all directions and at all corners, and the depth of the press should be uniform.

Press the depth marked before to the point where the light cover is pressed in, and observe if the depth around the light cover is uniform

13. Use clamps to hold the lamp shade and the lamp body tightly, wait for it to cool down, to avoid it from popping open.

14. If the depth of the lampshade pressing is not even, it is easy to cause gaps during the later stage of lamp installation.

15. Wait for 2 hours, prepare for loading, adjust the uniform gap to the original vehicle level

16. Old vehicles, due to their long service life, often experience aging and shrinkage of fasteners (screws, clips, etc.) and body panels, as well as plastic parts.
