Purpose:This series of trayscopes is used by industrial and mining enterprises, agriculture, chemical industries, schools, and other entities for measurement purposes.

Instructions for Use:

1. When using a balance, it should be placed on a flat workbench.

2. Move the pendulum to the “0” point at the left end of the scale, align the pointer with the center line, and achieve balance. Otherwise, rotate the adjustment nuts at both ends of the lever for adjustment.

3. When weighing items, try to place both the items and the weights in the center of the weighing plate.

4. The balance and weights should be cleaned with a soft brush during use, and kept dry.

5. If the balance is damaged or abnormal, it should be discontinued from use. It must be sent to the manufacturer or repair department for repair and inspection before being used again.

6. To ensure accuracy in weighing, it is generally checked once a year to prevent inaccuracy.

Usage Instructions:

1. The experiment of measuring the mass of an object is now performed using a tray balance, which significantly reduces the experimental requirements for adjusting the balance. This experiment primarily focuses on practicing the correct use of the balance, and students are required to operate it properly.

2. The blade groove dirt and residue should be removed promptly. Since the mechanical structures of the trayscales purchased on the market vary, careful observation of the disassembly procedure is required. Generally, the screws at the rear and front of the blade section of the trayscale need to be unscrewed, the blade section is removed, then the side blade holders are taken off from the blade groove openings on both sides, wiped clean, and finally reinstalled as originally.

3. If the balance is not used for a long time, apply some butter on the knife and blade groove, place it in a box, and store it in a dry place.

【Reference Materials】

When the balance is not at equilibrium, the mass difference between the object being measured and the weights that balance it can be estimated based on the difference in degrees of the pointer's movement to the left or right, combined with the balance’s sensitivity. For example, if the pointer deviates 4 degrees to the right and 1 degree to the left, resulting in a difference of 3 degrees, it would likely settle at approximately 1.5 degrees to the right. If the balance’s sensitivity is 0.2 grams, then the mass difference between the object being measured and the balanced weights is about 0.2 grams × 1.5 = 0.3 grams. Thus, adding approximately 0.3 grams of weights or moving the rider to around 0.3 grams can restore balance.
