The English name for Monomer casting nylon is Polycaprolactam. It is a type of nylon that is produced by casting molten monomeric material, polycaprolactam (C6H11NO), under normal pressure. This material is catalyzed by alkaline substances and combined with activators and other additives to form a monomeric polymer ready for polymerization. It is then directly injected into a preheated mold at a certain temperature, allowing the material to rapidly polymerize within the mold, solidifying into a tough solid preform. This preform is then subjected to further processing to achieve the desired product.

Its friction coefficient is 8.8 times lower than that of steel and 8.3 times lower than that of copper, while its specific gravity is only one-seventh that of copper.
