How the liquid ant bait works
Since this is a bait, you will initially see more ants—but don’t worry, that’s a good thing. Why? When the ants search for food, they are quickly attracted to the sweet powder in the bait station. After finding the bait, worker ants eat it and leave a pheromone trail back to the colony. This signal lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food source is. That’s why you see more ants at first.
At the same time, the active ingredient borax gradually disrupts the ants' digestive system, eventually eliminating it, but giving the ants enough time to return and share the dose with other members of the colony. This slow elimination is necessary so that foraging ants can approach the bait multiple times. The communal nature of the colony allows the bait to spread to hundreds or even thousands of ants.
How to use powder ant bait
The powder ant bait is very easy to use. Before placing the bait station, it is essential to remove other food sources such as bread crumbs, sugar, and oil spots, to prevent ants from being attracted to other locations.
