Here is an introduction to the PS version paper:
Definition and Uses
The PS version liner is a paper used primarily for creating the intermediate layer between PS plates and CTP plates. Its main function is to prevent the photosensitive layer of the PS plate from falling off, being scratched, or being damaged due to moisture, thereby reducing plate contamination and providing protection during storage, transportation, and use of the PS plate.
Features
- Material properties: Generally made from all-wood pulp, using chemical fibers with long lengths and good elasticity, offering high mechanical strength.
- Physical properties: Thin and smooth, excellent elasticity, smooth surface, fine fibers, high whiteness, strong tensile strength, good toughness, no static electricity, and good adsorption properties.
– Chemical properties: The pH value is strictly controlled between 6.2–6.8 to prevent adverse effects on the photosensitive layer of the PS plate.
Production process
- Pulping: High-quality, mechanically strong bleached commercial chemical wood pulp, such as coniferous and broadleaf wood pulp, is processed through separate pulping, blending, and addition of auxiliary materials to ensure the pulp contains no hard impurities or dust.
– Papermaking: The paper form is created through wet paper sheet copying and pre-drying processes. Parameters such as mesh speed, top mesh discharge volume, and the opening degree of the headbox lip plate are controlled to ensure uniform paper quality and thickness.
- Finishing: Treatments such as surface sizing, post-drying, and calender finishing are applied to the paper to improve smoothness, strength, and stability.
Specifications
- Weight: Generally between 15–35 grams, with 30–55 grams per square meter being the most common, and 40 grams per square meter being the primary value.
- Specifications: The width typically ranges from 800 to 2200 mm. Common specifications include 750×1050 mm, and cutting can also be done according to customer requirements.
