General Features ofFOSMEDICplain catgut sutures

Absorbable animal originated suture twisted multifilament, beige color.
Obtained from the thin intestinal serous layer of a healthy cattle free from BSE and aphthous fever.
Because it is a naturally occurring material, the tissue reactivity is relatively moderate.
Absorbed through phagocytosis in approximately 65 days.
The thread maintains its tensile strength between 7 and 14 days; patient-related factors can cause variations in this tensile strength.
Color code: Yellow label.
Often used in tissues that heal easily and do not require permanent artificial support.
