The optical system of a telescope consists of several groups of objective lenses, several groups of eyepieces, and other optical elements. It must achieve:
(1) Ensure that the dome room and the telescope storage room are well ventilated, dry, and clean. Try not to open the objective cover during rainy days. In the moldy rainy season in the south, you can tightly tie the two ends of the tube with non-breathable plastic bags, and place something in the tube (away from the lens).
(2) All eyepieces, prisms, secondary imaging mirrors, and other small optical parts and accessories should be placed in a dry box or dry tank with desiccant when not in use. At the same time, it is necessary to regularly replace the new desiccant.
(3) When there is dust on the optical mirror, use a blowing ball to gently blow it away, but do not blow with your mouth, to avoid spitting on the mirror surface. Do not touch the optical mirror with your hands, as fingerprints often corrode and leave permanent marks. If fingerprints are left, please clean them as soon as possible. Use a mixture of anhydrous ethanol and diethyl ether at 50% on a clean, deionized gauze, and gently wipe the mirror surface from the center clockwise or counterclockwise, only in one direction, until it is clean.
