 The slide projector is an optical instrument that can enlarge images and project them onto a screen. It is an important and widely used educational equipment in electrical teaching. The slide projector is mainly composed of light sources, condensers, projection lenses, etc. When projecting transparent images, the light emitted by the light source is condensed by the condenser and uniformly illuminates the image, and then the image is projected onto the screen by the projection lens to form an enlarged inverted real image. The magnification of the slide projector is equal to the ratio of the distance from the lens to the screen to the focal length of the lens. When projecting opaque images or flat objects, a reflective slide projector can be used. Light from a strong source is condensed by a concave mirror and projected onto the image placed on the reverse book stand, and then the reflected light is obtained by the plane mirror and the object lens to form an enlarged image on the screen.

Concave and convex mirrors: The imaging of concave and convex mirrors follows the laws of light reflection: the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection, and the path of light that is incident along the normal to the reflection point is reflected back along the same path but in the opposite direction.

Experiment Report:
In this hybrid optical system, the utilization of the light source is improved due to the role of the deep ellipsoidal mirror. The condensing mirror-based optical part is commonly used in popular slide projectors, while the condensing and reflecting hybrid optical part is commonly used in higher-end slide projectors. When the slide projector is operating, the light emitted by the source is reflected to the condensing mirror, which condenses the light to make the majority of the light uniformly and concentratively illuminate the slide. The transmitted light passes through the projection lens to present an enlarged inverted real image on the screen. Since the image formed by the convex lens is inverted, the slide must be inverted in the optical path of the slide projector during projection.
