A pressure switch is a simple pressure control device that can issue an alarm or control signal when the measured pressure reaches the rated value.
The working principle of a pressure switch is: when the measured pressure exceeds the rated value, the free end of the elastic element produces displacement, directly or after comparison, which pushes the switch element to change the state of the switch element's opening and closing, thus achieving the purpose of controlling the measured pressure.
The elastic element used in pressure switches includes single-coil spring tubes, diaphragms, diaphragm housings, and bellows, etc.
Switching components include magnetic switches, mercury switches, and micro switches, among others.
The switch form of the pressure switch has two types: the constant-open type and the constant-closed type.
Pressure switches are used on air compressors to regulate the start-stop state of the compressor. They control the compressor to stop and rest by adjusting the pressure in the air storage tank, which helps maintain the machine. During the factory debugging of air compressors, the pressure is adjusted to the specified pressure according to customer needs, and then a pressure difference is set. For example, when the compressor starts, it fills the air storage tank with air, and when the pressure reaches 10kg, the compressor stops or unloads. When the pressure reaches 7kg, the compressor starts again. This process has a pressure difference, which allows the compressor to rest, achieving the purpose of protecting the air compressor.
Directly driven by an electric motor, the compressor causes the crankshaft to rotate, which in turn drives the connecting rod to make the piston move back and forth, causing the volume of the cylinder to change. Due to the change in pressure within the cylinder, air is drawn through the air filter (muffler) and into the cylinder during the compression stroke. During this process, the compressed air is forced through the exhaust valve, through the mass flow meter, and into the exhaust pipe, where it enters the air storage tank through the one-way valve (check valve). When the exhaust pressure reaches the rated pressure of 0.7MPa, the system automatically stops. When the pressure in the air storage tank drops to 0.5-0.6MPa, the pressure switch automatically reconnects to start the system.
