How to identify the authenticity and purity of silver jewelry?

(1) Color (also known as the look face test): The higher the purity, the whiter the silver, the smoother and more uniform the surface, with a luster and a touch of color. If it contains lead, the surface will have a damp bloom with a blue-gray color; if it contains copper, the surface will be rough and rotten, with a dry feeling. Although the oxidized silver has a "black rust" on the surface, its color is bright and black, while lead, tin, and white copper do not have luster, and their color is dim.

(2) Weighing: Silver has a slightly higher density than most common metals. Generally speaking: "Aluminum is light, silver is heavy, and copper is neither light nor heavy." Therefore, weighing can make a preliminary judgment on whether it is silver.
